A Song For You

Kim told me I had to post soon, so I decided to make a series of short electronic/instrumental songs. A couple hours later, I began to remember how hard this is to do, so I stopped at one. The theme is the care-free joy one experiences on spring break (and particularly that last day of school):
(The melody was made in (the awesome) Milkytracker, random sounds over top are from Freesound and were overlayed with Audacity. You can download the song as an mp3 here.)

Trinitarian Prayer

Eberhard Jungel is one of the greatest living theologians, continuing off the theology of Karl Barth. I recently found (via Chrisendom) this excellent collection of Trinitarian prayers, in which Jungel laments the existential irrelevance the doctrine of the trinity has for the church today. Suggesting a way this can be overcome, he provides ten prayers that separately address each person of the trinity.

*snip:*
Lord God, heavenly Father,
Even when we cannot see it, you rule the world. Give us strength and courage to trust your rule rather than human rule.

Lord Jesus Christ, Song of God and friend of humans,
You have experienced the death to which we sent you; you have known the hell that we made for ourselves. But you have broken the power of death and hell so that you can be with us every day until the end of the age.

We praise you along with the Father in heaven, and we ask now for your Holy Spirit.
As we silently bring before our heavenly Father those things that concern us most, we pray especially for the freedom of those Christians who are oppressed and impeded in totalitarian states. Do no come to us, Holy Spirit, without coming also to them with comfort and with strength. AMEN
